The real deal-breaker is the monthly costs - £35 to £55 depending on contract, and no pay-as-you-go. I always thought that the high monthly costs of contracts were to offset the cost of the mobile that the operator gave you for free (or heavily subsidised) - but O2 are expecting us to buy the iPhone at full price AND pay these extortionate monthly costs? No thanks - although I'd consider it if I could buy the iPhone without a contract, even if it was still restricted to O2.
