The PS3 continues to improve and evolve. The best bit, PSN is free, no cost....
Kinds makes that £50 price difference between a 360 and a PS3 seem worth it, for free online play, and the feelgood feeling that comes with knowing the next gaming session is not going to break your console for the 4 time in 8 months...
Looking at the details of the trophy system, it seems that it's actually better than 360's achievements, as it does not have the unlevel playingfield across games, that the 360's achievements have, where a gamerscore of 2000 can me different things on different games, but outwardly appear to look like the same achievement.
I only ask because your comments reflect the excitement and fanboyism (if that’s a word) of a 10 year old.
Don't get me wrong, I think its great that someone of your age reads the Register instead of playing football or happy slapping or whatever children do during playtime these days.
Unfortunately, you come across as the kind of irritating person who shouts abuse or plays music over your headset while I'm playing COD4.
I can contribute useful and interesting information, see above ^
See, I was just informing you all about how Sony have managed to copy every feature the 360 has, and somehow made them so much better too, so it makes microsoft look pathetic. Although I have managed to not talk about how its not supported in old games, unless theyre patched, and then i'll have to play my old games again, which i already traded in because they were rubbish. Additionally i forgot to mention how poor the in game xmb implementation has been. But I'll be able to laugh again soon when firmware version 9.20 finally gets it right.
I get such a good feeling when i think about my PS3 not breaking and being so much better than the xbox.
I have a ps3 and an xbox 360, i am definately NOT a microsoft fan but i must say that BOTH consoles have their strengths.
Yes xbox breaks (I'm on my 8th) and they do charge for online play (i guess this covers all the costs of replacing consoles), but, they integrate well with pcs for media center, they have a good messenger system, and a heck of a lot more games than ps3.
PS3 is stable and reliable and it has a blu-ray player its online is free and you can upgrade the HDD to whatever sata 2.5 you want (I have a 250gb). But there is still the lack of games and features, and the servers are not the fastest.
Sony dates PS3 latest firmware debut

Just out of interest, how old are you?

Personally I wouldn't get rid of either.
