The upscaling picture is phenomenal, clearly using the very good DVD upscaling libraries the PS3 has.
Unfortunatly, it won't be able to pickup HD in the UK on freeview, merely because they decided to opt for an merging T2 DVB standard rather than the established one (the opposite of what is happening in DAB world).
SeriesLink functionality is missing in the update, it slipped apparently, but still being worked on. Now that PlayTV has a much wider audience, it should accelerate the rate of development (the latest firmware opens PlayTV up to another 36 countries apparently, including Australia).
is the only pvr in the world where you have to trawl through the listings each week to mark what you want to record. It has been designed by people who have never used a pvr before, and seemingly is designed by people who don't use it.

MarkOne: How exactly do you know what the upscaling is like? You don't even own a PS3!
