The guy buys a PC which comes with Windows, then get's upset becuase it has Windows.

If he's the IT god he makes himself out to be, why not save yourself a whole load of money by building your own PC and sticking whatever OS you want on it?

It would be like buying a Mac and then complaining that it has Mac OS on it.

Can't say that's ever happened to be on a Windows machine - in fact, I've never once had a s/w issue on a Windows machine.

Apple have for too long bemoaned Microsoft for having a monopoly - them and their users need to realise they can't just have it one way.

They cartel the hardware and then bitch about "M$" and IE.

Apple and your users: stfu or stop suing people just becuase they won't use your crappy machines.

As a public sector worker I can atest the last thing we need is open source software.

Do you guys want your taxes to go on re-training every civil servant who for the last 25 years has used the same software?

Then train all the support staff to support the new software, (markedly cheaper than paying them severance and hiring new people - although still expensive, since we'd need to train them as a matter of course).

Then train the developers up again, same reason as above, (for those that argue just get new ones in - don't be stupid it would cost a fortune as you can't fire someone in that way).

In short, there's not enough money to use free software.

Apple doesn't have any more credibility whith their fan base, (after all, they're not consumers anymore, they're fans), than say Gucci or Nike - gone are the days of decent processors and real innovation, now it's dollar bills and bling.

That's the sales business though - I used to work in retail sales about ten years ago, (ashamed to say I even worked for Tiny); people yo-yo between the retailers, especially the managers.

Sales people go where the money is.
