But the iPad is the same basic design as the iPhone and iPod touch (just bigger), both of which were released long before this yoke. Shenzhen Great Loong Brother is a great name for a company, though - I wish the place I work for had such a cool name.
Um, they don't sell PS2 games for download on the PlaystationStore - Just PSOne games, and if you have the disk, you can use that instead of downloading.
What would be the point of a volume meter display? I mean, you can hear if the audio is loud or quiet, why would you need to see it displayed on the screen, espically since a running music player spends most of its time in hidden away in a pocket or bag, where the screen can't be seen?
As for being able to "see" the sound level before putting on your headphones, a lot of people put on their headphones before hitting "play", and anyway the start of a track is often a quiet part, so a low level is no indication of what's to come.
Seem like a solution looking for a problem to me.

A lot has changed since Galileo. Official Catholic theology fully accepts the Big Bang, evolution, etc, so there's no issue with the Vatican exploring these issues. Although didn't Hawking tell the story of Pope JP II saying that it was OK for humanity to explore the everything that happened after the Big Bang, but not the moment of it itself, as this was God's moment?
I'd say most of those phones aren't in use any more, so I doubt that a significant chunk of the population has just had their mobile access cut.
That said, this measure doesn nothing for security. IMEI numbers can be spoofed, phones can be stolen or bought second hand, or smply brought in from a country that doesn't have manditory registration.
And in reply to Anonymous Coward @12.54, I don't see how not having your box would prevent you from registering. Walk into mobile phone store with mobile and ID, and job done.
"for those fanboys with a strange inclination to mix and match their operating systems."
So every Mac user is now a fanboy, eh? Even those who use a rival operating system on their machines?
And if needing or wanting to use two different operating systems at various times is counted as "strange", I can only assume that you're completely bewildered by people who change their clothes and have to think for a second before ordering lunch.
Record off the radio? Have you ever heard a radio station play a full song from start to finish? If you like the song enough to record it, do you really want to hear the DJ's inane prattle overlayed on the last 45 seconds of it every time you listen to it? The copyright/revenue issues might be enough to stop Apple from ever offering such a feature, but the reality of FM radio would be enough to make sure no one ever actually wanted to use it.
"How can she poossibly sue Google for complying with the courts??"
Right and wrong go out the window when there's a mega-corporation to be sued. The hope is that it will be cheaper and quicker for Google to settle out of court than be dragged through rounds and rounds of hearings to defend themselves, regardless of the merits of the case.
@ Waggers: Here in the 21st century, most people in developed countries carry what are called "mobile phones". I won't go into all the tecnology, but most of these "mobiles" contain a camera with video recording functionality. They have a handy feature whereby you can turn on the video recording functionality whenever you want to - so you don't have to leave it running the whole time in the hope that something interesting will happen in front of it.

This is a complete non story. Some blogger notices that Apple updated an obscure tech support article saying that AV software isn't a bad idea in general, and it's the main story on the Reg? A slow news day indeed!
